Nov 10, Laura added it Shelves: I actually had to look at the miller several times to be sure it was one of her books. I liked this book but it wasn’t one I’d read again which I frequently do. Mar 13, karen rated it really liked it. Miller is in top form in this wonderful tale of a former ugly duckling becoming a swan by virtue of kindness.

Hey, anyone can have a bad story once and awhile. Once again, something early on in her career. Usually as soon as I begin reading one of her books its very hard to put it down, although this was a very sweet, lovely story it just didn’t have that hold on you that her previous books have. But when Aubrey makes her a most practical offer, it is a far cry from the heartfelt proposal Susannah desires.

I read all of Linda Lael Miller’s books. That would make sense. Once you read just one of her books: Seems they both seem to be draw to each other, but each tries to deign it.
I loved seeing the signs of the caring man he could be on those occasions when he’d relax. Can she save the family, defeat the men trying their best to fame her new friend and can she find love in a world she has no experience in?

When she learned of Julia’s death, she left for Seattle immediately, lasl knowing what to It doesn’t take too long before she starts to see that there is more to his attitude than she thought. He doesn’t quite know what to think of the lovely Miss McKittrick. The time period, which attracted me to the book in the first place, is surprisingly vague. Susannah McKittrick a forerunner for the McKettrick books? She pursues the things she feels are right to do, even if she knows that Aubrey won’t like it.
